Bob Dyson answers the last of 5 most frequent questions on employment that have been asked by resettlement MBA enquirers:

Which employers particularly appreciate an MBA graduate with a Services background?

Obviously, the aerospace and defence industry are very interested in MBA graduates with a Services background but this is far from the full story. All commercial and public employers interviewed in surveys said that they would welcome applicants from the Armed Services.

Ex–military personnel who have held rank are thought to have demonstrated leadership under difficult circumstances, which is a quality that is much sought by multi–national companies looking at succession planning.

Individual recruiters report that much depends on the applicant's personality but Services personnel with an MBA are definitely getting the management job interviews, which is often the hardest part of starting a worthwhile second career.

Multi–national companies were the main contributors to these surveys and a list is available to enquirers who quote the Ex–Mil newsletter.
