Hi folks,

Much as we wanted to keep our noses out of politics, there’s one thing that we can’t keep quiet about and that’s defence spending – or the lack of it.

With our armed forces smaller than they’ve been for over 200 years, we’re still hearing stories about forces and their families forced to live in squalor, or about veterans who can’t get the help and support they need. If anyone is deserving of respect, it’s our forces.

Worst of all, none of the three main parties are addressing this issue. So if a candidate  knocks on your door, you know what to ask!

As ever, please do share your thoughts on our Facebook page.

Joke: The trusting professor

A group of Engineering professors were invited to fly in a plane. Right after they were comfortably seated, they were informed the plane was built by their students.

All but one got off their seats and headed frantically to the exits in maniacal panic.

The one lone professor that stayed put, calmly in his seat, was asked: “Why did you stay put?”

“I think it’s terrible that my colleagues have so little faith. I have plenty of confidence in my students. I know for certain this plane will never even start.”

For various reasons we can’t always include them in the newsletter, but we always appreciate them!
