Case Study: Ex-Mil Recruitment places candidate with major road resurfacing client

3 October 2018

We were approached to source 5 Roadmaster pothole repair operators

Job title: Roadmaster Operator

Location: UK Wide

Sector:  Road Maintenance

Function: Operator

Duration of search: One month

Consultant name:  Lee Spiers

Challenge

The client had been looking to find new Roadmaster operators to be employed on their newly acquired contracts in the UK. This client had used us before and our candidate’s willingness to work away was a major factor here, as they needed candidates who were willing to be away from home Monday- Friday.

Solution

We were contacted to secure Ex Military candidates with the relevant driving skills and technical background quickly, as the client had won contracts throughout the UK. We  quickly established the closest military leavers profile that matched this role, and ensured they shared the clients vision and values.

Results

The client then met with our recommended candidate and found that his skills aligned well with the job spec, and he enjoyed the diversity of working away during the week. This was refreshing to the client.

Client testimonial

We have used Ex-Mil in the past, with good results. We are based overseas, and needed to fulfil personnel to new contracts. They provided a number of excellent candidates that we put through our training, and took up the role.

Candidate testimonial

I found searching for a specialist driving role difficult, but Ex Mil opened up the door to a new and interesting career. At the same time, they offered longer term promotion prospects within this sector.

Consultant testimonial

It was very important to my client, that any candidates were happy to be based away during the week as to avoid any premature turnover. Being the prime qualifying factor for the role, I found candidates who actively looked for such roles. I based other criteria around this, giving the client a solid candidate to train, with this concern deleted.
