February 11, 2021 Newsletter
Hi folks,
We were very saddened by the recent death of Captain Sir Tom Moore. It has been truly heartening to see the nation come together in memory of a true British hero, a man who really brought us together when we needed it most. May he rest in peace.
Two pieces of potentially positive financial news for our serving colleagues (how often do you get to say that?!) Firstly, a final salary pension scheme is set to be made available to thousands of servicemen and women after an enquiry found that younger personnel were unfairly discriminated against by a new scheme. Secondly – and this could be important given the scale of the military response to the COVID crisis – compensation is to be made available to any service personnel who contract COVID while carrying out their duties.
And finally, congratulations to astronaut and former soldier Major Tim Peake who has become Honorary Colonel of 9 Regiment Army Air Corps (AAC). We think he'll be an excellent ambassador for the service.
Please drop an email to [email protected] if there's anything you'd like us to add to this newsletter.
Regards,
The Team

Joke: German Vet
A German tourist jumped into a frozen lake to save a lady's little dog who was drowning.
After he climbed out of the water he handed her the dog and said:
"Here is ze dog. Keep him warm and dry him off and he vill be fine."
She replied, "Thank you so much! Are you a vet?"
He said, "Vet? I'm ****ing soaking!"
