Product Engineer/Manager Nuclear (102lt) – Co Durham - £35-40k + Benefits

My client is looking for exceptionally talented, ambitious and motivated individuals seeking an international role within a young, highly progressive technology firm and would like to hear from high-calibre individuals who can take the company forward.

The Opportunity

They are seeking a high quality and experienced product specialist to own and manage new products through their lifecycle. The role will involve project leading, technical oversight, teamwork and collaboration with internal development specialists and an ultimate customer focus.

Responsibilities:

• Technical ownership for nuclear products through their lifecycle from concept to mass production
• Product development project management
• Key interface to customers on all product technical issues, including product definition, design specification, prototyping, and type testing
• Ensure product costs and profit margins achieve their targets
• Ensure product quality and reliability is continuously improved
• Demonstrate a leadership role in influencing internal groups and customers with regard to their products
• Key interface for providing product technical support to the sales and marketing functions
• Oversee product certification
• Ensure product technical compliance

Essential:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an electronics product engineering role
• Knowledge of radiation systems algorithms and algorithm development
• Proven project management experience for product development
• Proven experience in electronics product lifecycle management
• Demonstrated ability to achieve results working in teams

Desirable:

• Agile development project management experience
• Experience and willingness to travel both within the UK and abroad
• Proven track record of managing nuclear instrument/radiation detection products through the product lifecycle

This role would probably suit a SNCO/WO from a Royal Navy background who has a strong engineering and electronics background with knowledge of Nuclear radiation and properties.
