Installation and Customer Service Engineer (226lt) vacancy in Reading, Berkshire ()

My client is looking for enthusiastic people to join their busy team of field engineers that can be trained over time to learn the skills required to install and commission both Security Tagging Systems and well as CCTV systems into Retail, Residential, Restaurants and School environments.

Ideally you will be looking for a long term career and will have the desire to travel, with an attitude and keenness to learn new things. Being practical and good with your hands will be an advantage and a background or interest in electronics would be an advantage but not essential.


Your job

Once fully trained as an installations and customer service engineer you will be expected to work independently and as part of a team to intall and service electronic security tagging systems and CCTV equipment. The work will be field based within the UK (occasional overseas travel may be required). A company van will be provided. Although the basic hours are 9am - 5pm, due to our customers requirements and travel involved, the flexibility to work outside these hours is required (overtime rate will be paid).
Some of the duties involve:
• First fix of Security Tagging Systems/CCTV cabling during initial stages of retail store development/refit
• 2nd fix of Security Tagging Systems/CCTV and commission of all equipment prior to hand over
• Liasing with shop fitters/customers to ensure success of installation
• Providing customers with training and product information
• Service of existing Security Tagging/CCTV systems
• Schedule is MON to FRI 9am – 5pm

Job Requirements

Required:
• 5 GCSE grade C or above
•Full clean UK driving licence

Desirable:
• BTEC/City and Guilds qualifications in electronic engineering
• Electronics experience
• Good knowledge of computers
• Experience using hand tools and power tools (company tools will be provided)
• Excellent communication skills and problem solving abilities
• Multi-task oriented
