IT Technician (243ne) vacancy in Cambridge ()

At the forefront of business and product innovation, our Client develops and commercialises diverse technologies across a broad range of market sectors
They are now looking to recruit an IT Technician to join a small team of support staff that are responsible for providing internal technical support over a diverse range of technologies as well as maintaining a secure and high availability IT infrastructure.

You will have relevant qualifications including English with previous experience and knowledge of what is entailed in an IT support role and can provide evidence of a broad knowledge of IT skills and a responsible attitude towards confidentiality and cyber security.
You will be confident, self-motivated and enthusiastic with good troubleshooting and time management skills to effect solutions to a variety of IT issues/projects.

You will have all of the following skills/traits/experience:
• Excellent IT troubleshooting skills with the initiative to find innovative technical solutions
• Able to setup, deploy and support new Desktops/Laptops
• Experience of Microsoft operating systems (Windows Desktop, Server)
• Assist in regular server and network management tasks (some out of normal office hours)
• Able to undertake IT projects from proposal through to delivery
• A genuine keenness to learn new technologies
• Able to log support calls and provide timely updates/solutions to users
• A willingness to undertake the mundane routines (daily health/security checks, backups, consumables etc.)
• Experience of maintaining OS/third party application patch levels and security definitions
• Excellent English language skills

The following skills/knowledge/experience would also be an advantage:
• Experience of Netapp Storage devices
• Experience of Unified Threat Management/Firewall appliances
• Experience of Active Directory and Group Policy Management
• An understanding of good Cyber Security practices
• A willingness to learn new IT skills
• Knowledge of PowerShell
• Experience/knowledge of Linux
