SkillForce has an exciting and rare opportunity for an exceptional Operations and Compliance Director to join our team.

SkillForce is a charity that works in partnership with schools throughout the UK, drawing upon the skills of predominately but not exclusively ex-forces personnel, to inspire young people to succeed at school and in life. In partnership with schools we deliver a curriculum and activities that provide young people with knowledge, skills and experience and most importantly the self-belief that they can achieve.

We seek to appoint an experienced Director of Operations and Compliance. The successful candidate must be capable of leading our remote operational delivery teams. He/she will ensure SkillForce has the structure in place to deliver outstanding educational programmes to our service users.

Organisation:

The Director of Operations and Compliance will be part of our Executive Team working alongside our highly qualified and experienced executives; Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Director of Learning. The role will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

About the role:

The successful candidate will be accountable for the leadership, strategic direction and operational delivery of SkillForce educational programmes throughout the UK, primarily but not exclusively working with young people ensuring high impact and positive outcomes.

You will lead and support remote operational teams and business development initiatives to ensure the Charity meets its serviced income target, circa £3m annually and ensure compliance with all legal and procedural requirements.

About you:

You will;
• have previous experience of strategic operational leadership and compliance management having working at a senior level within an organisation.
• have a proven track record of achieving income targets/sales targets in a service environment (circa £3m annually).
• be experienced in the leadership and management of remote direct reports and teams.
• have experience of developing, overseeing and managing budgets.
• have experience of safeguarding and health and safety management and compliance.
• be experienced in partner and stakeholder management.
• Ideally, you will have knowledge or experience of working in education or in the Charity sector.

You will also;
• have excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
• be an effective problem solver.
• be a highly effective team player.


This role is predominantly based in Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire but travel around the UK will be required.

This role will be subject to an enhanced criminal record check.
