My client has a vacancy for a Lecturer (Academic Training Group) in the Royal Navy’s principal training facility in Gosport.

Responsibilities
• To be responsible for the delivery for the academic delivery functions service for EMTC (Sultan) courses listed in current and future Statement of Training Requirement’s, or other buildings as required, in line with Company standards and contractual requirements.
• Support the preparation of course modules as directed by the Principle Lecturer (Academic Trg Group)

Main Tasks
• Managing and instructing military and civilian personnel in Engineering and Mathematics academic modules to Foundation Degree level in accordance with approved instructional specifications.
• Supervising the conduct of laboratory and assignment work in support of the above.
• Invigilating of examinations and marking assessments and assignments in support of the above.
• Reporting on student performance as required.
• Being responsible for a Module Resource Pack and/or the Subject Matter Expert with respect to Mechanical Principles.
• Ensure Company health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times for all employees under their direction.

• The nature of RN training requires a high degree of flexibility for all Sultan staff.
• Instruction of additional academic subjects consistent with qualifications and experience

Qualifications & Requirements
• Consolidated experience in the delivery of nationally recognised engineering education and training – Essential
• Minimum qualification of HND or equivalent in an engineering or maths discipline and hold a recognised teaching qualification – Essential
• Instructional experience of technical subjects in a military environment (in last 5 years) - Desirable
• Experience in the development of engineering based training courses - Desirable
• Experience of applying engineering principles practically in a military technical environment - Desirable
• METG brief on RN ME Engineering Technician career path and Career Course content - Desirable
• DCTS Defence Train The Trainer Course (successful completion) or equivalent - Desirable
• ECDL or equivalent demonstrable proficiency in using IT (hardware/software) within the workplace - Desirable
• Have a good working knowledge of H&S legislation as it applies to the teaching environment – Essential
