My client an established and world renowned engineering company, who have just won a £82million contract from the MoD are now seeking a Engineering Manager to join them at this exciting period of growth.

As the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines contributing to the project deliverables. The project involves the management of a fleet of high value and complex optical equipment and products requiring the scheduling, planning, forecasting, resourcing and management of all of the associated technical engineering activities in order to assure project safety, accuracy and quality from conception to completion.

Therefore your responsibilities will include:
• Reporting to the Project Manager (PM) on the assigned engineering projects
• Monitor compliance to all relevant QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
• Interact daily with the client to resolve technical issues highlighted through the helpdesk
• Perform overall quality control of the equipment and report regularly on project status
• Assign responsibilities and mentor project team
• Cooperate and communicate effectively with the PM and other project staff, review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
• Work with the Sub Contract Manager (SCM) to ensure the best supply chain solutions are achieved.
• Compliance with all ISO and health and safety compliances
• Preparation of management reports and statistical analysis
• Resolution of all safety and technical issues
• Full compliance with contractual KPIs
• Client facing role requiring the development and maintenance of good client relationships delivering exceptional customer service levels
• Deputising for the PM in his/her absence

To be eligible for this role, you will need the following:
• Individuals should demonstrate an excellent level of education (at least a BSc in an appropriate Engineering discipline).
• You will need to be a flexible individual with a positive can-do attitude who is willing to work overtime and on-call to meet business and customer needs when required and at short notice.
• Have to be able to demonstrate the ability to use MS Office, have a strong customer service orientation, excellent communication and people skills.
• A highly motivated and positive attitude is essential while problem solving and analytical skills as well as the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner are all essential characteristics.
• A knowledge of the MoD Dismounted Close Combat (DCC) market and Surveillance, Target acquisition and Night Observation (STANO) equipment would be extremely advantageous. AS9100 awareness and/or experience is also desirable.
