My client is one of the UK’s leading independent defence contractor specialising in the development, integration and through-life support of military systems are now seeking to recruit a Senior Platform Integration Engineer to join their expanding team.

In this role you will be responsible to the Platform Co-ordinator and the Project Manager for providing engineering support, small team management, procurement, installation & testing and configuration control.

Therefore your key responsibilities will include:
• To carry out planning, installation, integration, setting to work and acceptance testing of project equipment in support of an agreed programme, as detailed by the Platform Co-ordinator;
• The ability to lead a small team to complete the installation support activities off site (UK or overseas), often with challenging timescales;
• Attendance of trials (either on sea or land) as required;
• To attend meetings with the project customer and equipment end users;
• To carry out maintenance and routine servicing of relevant equipment in accordance with the project plans and work instructions;
• To produce, issue and update various project documents;
• To conduct platform surveys when new equipment is to be installed.

TO be eligible for this role, you will need the following qualifications and experience
• Experience of working on Ministry of Defence programmes would be preferred but not essential.
• The ability to liaise with various MoD customers and represent the company;
• A good working knowledge of electronics.
• An understanding of underwater acoustics and sonar (not essential).
• SC Cleared as a minimum (DV Clearance will be required once the position is accepted).

The ideal candidate would probably be from a RN background, possible Petty Officer or Chief Petty Office, who has a background in Sonar or Acoustics background, preferably on below surface fleet, however candidates who other military backgrounds will be considered.

In this role you will be probably spending anywhere between 12 – 18 weeks away from the office, primarily in Devon or Scotland, however overseas travel may also be involved.
