You will be reporting to Head of Indirect Procurement and your role will be to work in close collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the proactive and effective end to-end management of all Procurement and commercial requirements for specific spend categories.
Therefore your key tasks will include:-
• To manage tendering, contracts and negotiation strategy, in line with Procurement Plans.
• Achieve strong, collaborative, and sustainable relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
• Work with end-users and relevant functional departments to develop specifications, statements of work, performance metrics, tender documentation and drafting appropriate contract terms & conditions.
• Manage the tender/supplier selection/contract award and implementation process ensuring effective communication is maintained throughout.
• Create added value (performance & savings) annual activity plans that support the attainment of department/business objectives.
• Ensure that department and individual performance targets are achieved through the maintenance of monthly progress reports.
• Conduct regular risk assessments for all Procurement managed category.
• Fully populate all key Procurement databases and information registers, ensuring that key information is maintained and kept up-to-date at all times.
• Formally plan regular review meetings with end-users, stakeholders and suppliers, ensuring that these take place as planned.
• Demonstrate positive, proactive, customer-focused and professional behaviours at all times.
• Other purchasing duties as deemed necessary by the Director of Procurement or Line Manager.
Skills and Qualifications
• Procurement expertise preferably with category management.
• Knowledge of additional direct and indirect categories.
• Drafting and negotiating contract terms and conditions especially construction contracts.
• Drafting and developments of performance metrics.
• Assisting end users in drafting and developing specifications.
• Drafting tender documentation.
• Management of the tender process.
• Market and supplier analysis.
• Proven experience of developing and managing strong relationships with end users, senior stakeholders and suppliers.
• Gravitas to influence all levels of management.
• Able to lead and manage multiple priorities / projects effectively without compromise.
• MCIPS (or working towards).
• Delivering significant benefit through supplier sourcing, selection and contracting.
• Ability to create procurement contracting and negotiation strategies.
• Manage multiple diverse spend categories.
• Managing multiple suppliers.
• Managing high total spend.
• A business degree or engineering qualification would be highly desirable.
The ideal individual would be someone who comes from a procurement background, who is highly analytical and who may have had experience in managing contractual relationships within the IT and/or temporary labour and recruitment markets, but someone who is a self-starter who is able to adapt to shifting demands within a very short space of time. You will also need to be flexible, as you may need to travel to different sites both in the UK and overseas.
In return they are offering an excellent salary base, plus a car, 5% staff bonus, pension and 25 days holiday plus statutory bank holidays (3 days annual leave to be reserved for use between Christmas and New Year).
