You will be reporting to the Managing Director and your role will be to manage the company’s accounts payable and receivable. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and reconciling accounts, processing payments to external partners and maintaining updated records of invoices and receipts. To be successful in this role, you should have a Finance or Accounting background and be familiar with bookkeeping. Ultimately, you will ensure we process all financial transactions accurately and on time.
Therefore your duties will include:
• Ensuring that all the company accounts are kept up to date on the Sage 50 Accounting system.
• Manage the Financial matters relating to the company including liaising with any external bodies that require obtaining/releasing financial information with, such as Lloyds Bank, Global Reach (Foreign Currency Brokers for 'spot' deals & Forward Deals for currency to be forward bought at competitive exchange rates), HMRC in connection with all matters - VAT, PAYE, CIS, Intrastat.
• Making payments to Suppliers (UK and Overseas) and allocating receipt of funds from Customers accordingly.
• Monthly Payroll on Sage system and arranging payment of Expenses/reimbursements etc. claimed by employees.
• Oversee the Accounts Assistant in the execution of her duties
• Insurance reviews and renewals - Business Commercial Combined, Professional Indemnity, Vehicle Fleet Insurance, Business Travel Insurance, Marine & Cargo Insurance.
• Manage obligations to suppliers, customers and third-party vendors
• Process bank deposits
• Reconcile financial statements
• Prepare, send and store invoices
• Contact clients and send reminders to ensure timely payments
• Submit tax forms
• Identify and address discrepancies
• Report on the status of accounts payable and receivable
• Update internal accounting databases and spreadsheets
To be eligible for this role you will need:
• Proven work experience as an Accounts Manager or similar role
• Good knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and debt collection regulations
• Hands-on experience with accounting software
• Advanced knowledge of Excel & Sage
• Solid data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors
• Good organizational and time-management abilities
• Professionally Certified in Finance, Accounting or relevant field
