My client, unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams in the UK and around the world and are currently seeking to recruit a Fundraising Director.

You will be part of the Senior Management team and you role will be to accelerate the growth of fundraising across a diversified range of income streams to achieve long term, sustainable income.

Therefore your Key Responsibilities will include:
• Lead the development and implementation of a 3 year fundraising strategy that underpins strategic goals to accelerate income growth in a sustainable manner across a diverse range of income streams and embed a culture of fundraising across the organisation
• Lead the development and implementation of a 3 year fundraising plan, which includes key activities and areas of required investment
• Grow fundraising income to support the organisation’s aspiration to recruit and train 10,000 Grey Shirts and deploy on multiple domestic and international operations every year
• Establish a range of new income streams, with a particular emphasis on the application of digital technology as the basis for establishing a more diverse range of income
• Establish, test and rollout a supporter acquisition programme which increases the size of the active supporter base including the use of social media and on-line communities as a prominent means of reaching new supporters
• Establish supporter segmentation and journeys as the basis for effective supporter engagement and align with wider volunteer journeys across the organisation
• Establish collaborative ways of working with the Operations Directorate to maximise fundraising and lead generation when deployed on disaster operations
• Establish a portfolio of large, long term, broad based corporate partnerships that provide sustainable income, directly enhance the operational capability of TRUK and improve the public’s understanding of the impact of TRUK’s work
• Establish structure, processes, competencies and systems to ensure the Fundraising department is fully equipped to accelerate growth, establish a diversified and sustainable income base
• Work closely with the Director of Operations, to significantly increase the number of, and value derived from volunteers to support cost effective growth in TRUK fundraising
• Through the development of supporter journeys, the development of networks and appropriate propositions and the establishment of a calendar of major donor events, to establish a portfolio of mid and major donors that provide a sustainable source of income and donations in-kind to the charity
• Inspire and develop all members of the Fundraising department
• Work closely with the CEO and remainder of the SMT to provide leadership to the organisation as a whole
• Feed into the development and implementation of the strategic plans of the charity

Therefore to be eligible for this role, you will need the following:
• Ability to strategically plan whilst delivering tactical fundraising
• Must have a mature list of connections and the demonstrable ability to generate new business without over reliance on the Board
• Track record of creating lucrative partnerships with corporates and HNW individuals
• Knowledge of the shifting fundraising landscape and a clear plan for embracing the opportunities that arise from the digitalisation of charitable giving and fundraising
• Must be able to think laterally and be entrepreneurial when approaching income generation and gift in kind
• Ability to influence up to Board level, at home and internationally, whilst still being able to develop and work with a small and intimate fundraising directorate effectively
• Has the tenacity and drive to create sustainable income streams from scratch to allow Team Rubicon UK to achieve its significant ambitions

This role will be primarily based in a London office. The role requires the flexibility to travel to Chilmark HQ to attend meetings as and when required.

The ideal candidate would probably be someone who has left the service some time ago, and built up significant experience in the commercial arena, preferably in the Fundraising sector, but within a fast moving commercial environment and the ability to close deals.
