My client, unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams in the UK and around the world and are currently seeking to recruit an Operations Support Manager.

You will be reporting to the Ops Director and your role will be to the conditions for response operations.

Therefore your Key Responsibilities will include:
• Design, deliver and continuously improve a training programme to staff and volunteers that builds capacity and capability within the organisation. Adept at assessing people and identifying talent.
• Recruitment, retention and management of volunteer talent. Requires an inspirational leader who can tailor their style to meet the situation and the individual.
• Programming and maintenance of the RollCall System for volunteer management and development.
• Facilities management of two leased buildings and training area.
• Acquisition, storage and accounting of a small pool of operational equipment and material.
• Health and safety policy and practice.
• Implementing and maintaining business insurance policies and records over a wide range of areas e.g. travel insurance for employees and volunteers, drone insurance, motor vehicle insurance, public liability insurance etc.
• Develop and maintain a Business Continuity plan for all areas of the business.
• Support to response through:
1. development of operational and tactical doctrine in collaboration with the response manager;
2. managerial oversight of the mission hub, and;
3. able to assume the responsibilities of the response manager in extremis, for limited periods.
• Lead and manage a diverse team of permanent, part-time, contracted and intern staff and a large volunteer base.

Therefore to be eligible for this role, you will need the following:
• Dynamic, agile and methodical; able to mentally and physically orientate to a problem, quickly dissect the salient factors, ascertain risk and reward, establish workable solutions that have cross party buy-in and brief this in a manner that ensures common understanding to often wide and mixed ability groups.
• Adept at managing multiple and competing priorities.
• A qualification in programme/project management is essential.
• Through diplomacy, tact and patience persuade a broad church of international, national and our own volunteers into action; some of which might well be indecisive, irrational and at times combative.
• Task orientated but with an ability to think laterally to find innovative new ways of solving decades old problems, take calculated risks and use their initiative to seize fleeting opportunities.
• Reflects the values of the organisation and humanitarian principles.
• An effective communicator; articulate both orally and on paper.
• Organised with good attention to detail.
• Emotional resilience and almost limitless flexibility to deploy.
• Tenacious, self-motivated and robust. Able to drive through plans that are beset by challenges and a lack of resource.

This role will be primarily based in the Chilmark HQ, but with possible travel to London Office and other locations as needed.

The ideal candidate would probably be SNCO/WO, LE or DE Junior or middle ranking officer, who has a strong operational background and who is able to hit the ground running.

In return the client is offering a good salary and benefits package, as well as operating in a dynamic organisation that puts people at the heart of its operation, both in the UK and Overseas.
