My client is seeking a Part Time Security Officer to work at their location in Tetbury, Gloucestershire.

You will be reporting to the Security and Operations Manager on a daily basis, and you role will be to carry out security duties in and around the house as required.

The normal days of work will be Tuesdays and Wednesdays working from 8am-4pm unless specifically requested to work on other days to cover exceptional circumstances such as visits of members of the family, senior executives of the company and Contractors.

Therefore your key tasks are as follows:
• On entering property and disabling the alarm check all areas of the property both internally and external including the main house from top to bottom to check that all windows are secure and no maintenance issues are apparent.
• Check that all CCTV cameras are in good working condition
• You are expected to during the course of the day carry out two inspections on the external parts of the property and to ensure that the automatic gates are working
• If leaving the security post at any time during the course of your duties you should always carry the mobile house phone with you.
• Record into the security log any arrivals and departures from the property. Do not allow access to any contractor unless forewarned via the Planned Works schedule.
• At the end of the day check that all windows and doors are locked.
• Before departing for the day ensure that the alarm is set in both the Main house and the adjacent building.
• Assist the Housekeeper in her cleaning duties, especially giving assistance when work on a step ladder is required.

Administrative responsibilities
• Maintain an accurate and up to date filing system, ensuring confidentiality of information.
• Control diaries where appropriate, ensuring appointments are made accurately.
• Answer the telephone and put calls through in a professional manner.
• Take messages accurately over the telephone and deal discreetly and competently with telephone requests.
• Be available via telephone or mobile phone outside working hours to attend to emergencies related to the property.

Health and Safety Management
• Carry out inspections of all fire equipment in at least once a month to check future test dates of all extinguishers, fire blankets and detector head status. Inform the Security Manager of any equipment not complying with Fire Certificate requirement
• Understand and adhere to all policies and procedures for security, health and safety, fire and life.
• Comply with guidelines outlined for the proper use, protection and safety of tasks in particular to those relating to substances hazardous to health (COSHH) and manual handling.
• Report any maintenance issues immediately requiring attention and log to ensure accurate follow up and completion dates.
• Promote safe working practices ensuring all accidents are attended and reported.
• Report sick/irregular behaviour of staff, residents or contractors. Report any incidents, complaints, suspicious persons or safety hazards immediately.

This role would suit someone who is looking for a steady part time role, as this person is only required when the client carries out maintenance and improvement works that may be required, and your role will be to facilitates access to the buildings, however some flexibility may be required when the principal or authorised individual stays at the house, however it is a very rare occasion, and may only happen a couple time per year.
