My client employer 800 people worldwide that support and enable global infrastructure projects. It is also one of the biggest hire and temporary works business in the UK, and is currently looking for a Driver to join its fast paced Hatfield Depot in Hertfordshire.

The Role

The role of Driver is to safely collect, and deliver the company’s hire equipment from customer’s sites and company depots, ensuring high levels of customer service, maintaining full responsibility for legal compliance, load security and stock accuracy.

Main Responsibilities:

To drive category C / C+E vehicles safely, legally, and efficiently as required.

Ensuring full compliance with all drivers hours and Road Transport Directive (RTD) legislation.

Loading and unloading vehicles in a safe manner and maintain safety, and security of load at all times.

Carrying out necessary checks to ensure your vehicle is safe and legal and to follow appropriate procedures to action the rectification of any faults found.

Effectively and professionally communicate on site with the customer as a representative of the company.

Completing all paperwork promptly and accurately as required (Including the possible use of hand held scanners / PDA’s).

Maintaining clear communication with the hire desk, and promptly feedback any issues around deliveries or collections affecting customer service.

Fully comply with all Health and Safety requirements in depot, on the road, and at customers’ sites, and to take responsibility for ensuring own fitness to drive at all times.

In return, my client is offering an hourly rate of between £11.00 and 13.40 per hour, depending on experience. The normal work pattern is a 40 hour week, Monday to Friday.

This company operates a strict drugs and alcohol policy. Applicants will be required to undergo screening as part of the selection process, and will be subject to random checks thereafter if appointed to the role.
