My client, who are world leaders in the electroluminescent lighting sector for a number of years, and are now seeking to recruit a General Manager for this next exciting stage of their growth.

You will be reporting to the two directors, and your role will be to assist in the development and implementation of an effective sales strategy as well as planning and executing sales and marketing and product development programmes that will meet pre-determined targets and increase our market share.

You will be a strategist and a leader able to steer the company to the most profitable direction while also implementing its vision, mission and long-term goals. Crisis management skills will also be essential for the times when everything comes at once.

In the coming year, they plan to launch new products into their existing markets and to develop new and potentially rewarding market sectors, and they hope to have our General Manager playing a critical part in the implantation process.

You will be a critical member of the team as they continue their organic growth. If you have a history of successfully meeting and exceeding your goals and objectives, they encourage you to forward your resume for consideration.

Their Market Sectors include, Emergency Services Organisations, Military, Construction and Rail.

Therefore, your responsibilities and duties will include:
• Create and implement strategic sales and marketing plans to achieve business objectives
• Develop the sales team and international distributors
• Monitor Competitors products, including sales data
• Use available data to accurately forecast sales and set performance goals
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with Key clients, including negotiating and closing orders and contracts
• Controlling Finance
• Managing Production

Qualifications and Skills
• Ideally a degree in sales, Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent experience.
• 5 years’ experience of handling people, Sales, Production and or Military
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present strategy and results to staff members.
• The ability to present the company’s products to a wide range of audiences
• Ability to create and maintain positive relationships with current and prospective clients
• Demonstrated skills in negotiating and closing on critical sales contracts.

The ideal candidate would probably be an ex Officer, who has experience in route clearance, Minefield Marking or Expeditionary Forces as these are potentially key areas for the sale of the new product and further development in the future as they have an aggressive but realistic growth plan for the next 2 -3 years which will see the company expanding but at least 200%
