My client designs and manufactures microwave and RF components and subsystems for the Telecoms, Military and Aviation sectors and are now seeking to recruit a new Engineering Technician to join their team.

This is a full-time post and you will be reporting directly to the Production Manager. Your role will include the day-to-day support of both Engineering and Production projects to meet the output forecast for the company. The main areas of focus will be as follows: -

Production Activity
Work on a wide range of production-based products ensuring compliance to company procedures for device build, electronic tuning and testing. Work will be focused on meeting the agreed production schedule to achieve company output targets.

Engineering Activity
Working closely alongside development Engineers to support new product design activity. This is a hands-on role aimed at “pulling” new products through from the development team in a timely manner in order to support the output forecast for design projects. It will require support of Engineering staff in both the build and test of product based on the skills acquired working in a production environment.

Improvement Activity
A fundamental requirement of this role is to play an active part in supporting ongoing improvement activity and suggesting and implementing changes to increase efficiency.

To be eligible for this role you will need:
Good inter-personal and communication skills are required as this is a pivotal role in ensuring that current production continues to run smoothly, whilst new products are developed and introduced in the most cost-effective and timely manner. In addition, a high level of manual dexterity is required in order to work on chip and wire, soldered and epoxy mounted components. A good understanding of RF test and measurement techniques and the use of a wide range of electrical test equipment is also required. The successful candidates will also possess a solid understanding of RF and microwave principles and have hands-on experience of microwave assembly and test techniques.
