Placed by: Ex-Mil Recruitment
My client, an established hi tech company who work in such diverse areas as mobile phones, to surveillance tools to solar cooking and power generation are now seeking a number of Network Engineers to join their expanding team.

They are currently working on a number of major comms infrastructure projects overseas and they are seeking to recruit a number of people to design, deploy and manage these projects and technology.

So, in this case, they are looking to recruit a number of Network Engineers to be based in the UK but with regular overseas deployment.

You will be working as part of the design and deployment team but will work alongside an electronic design engineering and software development team, plus QA.
The Role

The Network Engineer reports to a team manager, but there is the possibility to move up into a team leader role in the longer term. There is also the possibility to move into a support and training role in training and supporting their overseas foreign teams. The role will be primarily in mesh network technologies but using all aspects of RF comms at times.

Salary is proportional to experience and the flexibility of your skill-set.

Therefore, to be eligible for this role you will need the following key skills and abilities:
• Experience in network design, field deployment and support of wireless communications equipment is essential.
• Experience in networking equipment and in-depth knowledge of fixed and wireless networks is essential.
• Experience in configuration of a wide range of networking technology and IT infrastructure is essential.
• Experience in RF simulation such as ATDI very advantageous. Understanding of various encryption technologies and a full understanding of cryptographic best practices for key management is advantageous.
• Qualifications are not important. The most important factor is experience and the ability to do the job.
• It's important that you are a team player with good interpersonal communications skills.
• Personnel management skills and some project management experience would be useful.

The ideal candidates for this role would probably be ex Signals |IS or similar who can hit the ground running and already proven skills in a similar environment, either in the forces or since leaving.

As stated, there may be overseas travel, however, none of this travel is in high risk arenas and all costs and expenses will be covered by my client.

In return they are offering an exceptional salary package, as well as the ability to join a company that is experiencing sustained period of high growth and development, and my client views these posts as the first step into the company for longer term development and promotion.
