About the role
This is a unique opportunity to manage the team that protects the mechanical building services of a university like no other. It was after the first world war that the local community came together to create our university. The University of Leicester is a living memorial to honour all those who made sacrifices for the nation. Of course, as a site with such a heritage, reactive maintenance is vital to preserve our buildings. You will ensure we can keep supporting young peoples’ futures.

Your role as Reactive Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor is about more than management. You will keep the team motivated, and offer support when it is needed. Crucially, you will aim to remove barriers to getting faults fixed to a high standard on the first go. Allocating and prioritising work, you will use our software systems to bring together in-house maintenance experts at the right time and place. You will also ensure everyone follows good health and safety practice.

About you
To step into the shoes of our supervisor, you will need current trade qualifications, plus either a relevant HNC qualification or a substantial level of experience of mechanical buildings services in a role like this. You will certainly demonstrate the ability to organise your own activities, and other people’s, to meet deadlines. Knowledge of health and safety compliance within the construction/maintenance industry is equally important.
