Opto-Mechanical Engineers x 2 vacancy in St. Albans (321jc)

My client, who are one of the world leaders in the repair, refurbishment and recalibration of a variety of Opto-mechanical instruments and associated weapons systems are now due to massive increase of demand seeking to recruit two new Electro Mechanical Engineers to join their team.

You will be reporting to the Workshop Foreman and your role will be working alongside the technicians to assemble sub-assemblies and instruments, including repairs and new build. Specials and one-off R&D work as instructed.

Therefore, you roll will consist of Inspection prior to Assembly
• Inspect and understand glass / metal component specifications
• Inspect internal sub-assemblies including glass/metal components prior to final assembly
• Inspect/ Test finished instruments

To be eligible for this role you will need the following experience
• Must be able to understand Engineering / Technical Drawings
• Must be able to understand Engineering & Technical Work Instructions (Planning Sheets)
• Must have experience with ISO 9001 Management Systems
• Must have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, etc
• Stock Control – Allocation & Issuing of kits to workshop
• Updating BOMS
• Assist in Purchasing Consumables/Packing Materials for Workshop / Despatch

The ideal candidate for this role would be someone who is probably ex REME Armour or similar who has experience on working with a variety of gun mounted sites from small arms to large calibre guns as well as ancillary equipment. However any one who has a strong mechanical engineering background.
