My client is a rapidly growing Hi-Tec Company founded in 2002 and are a global leading in their field and they are now seeking an experienced candidate to integrate into their European support team.

This field support engineer position is within their European Support Team, and is a UK based, working from your home-office, or within an hour’s commute to Stansted. It requires a hands-on, detail-oriented person, able to work directly with our customers throughout Europe. This involves on-site installation of sophisticated robotic systems for life-science research, customer training and follow-up support, both from home-office and in the field.

Please note this position requires 50%+ overnight travel, potentially on short notice.

Therefore, your primary work responsibilities will include:
• Greater London based, member of the support team in Europe, reporting to the EU Support Manager.
• Service existing systems in the European field.
• Customer training and support from home and in the field, via phone, email or remote access tools such as TeamViewer
• Escalate issues to the USA HQ when necessary
• Record customer interactions and issues in our CRM database
• Maintain and record detailed notes during customer support work
• Follow up with the engineering teams to ensure that issues are addressed, and product quality and usability are improved.
• Provide a regular support summary in weekly team meetings.

• In-house repair and testing of Mantis/Pulse instruments.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an IT/engineering/robotics discipline.
• Experience with precision automation, robotics, software, microfluidics is desired.
• Experience with digital imaging systems, Lasers and optics would be a benefit.
• Highly proficient with computers, (windows OS), networking and IT related activities.
• Quick leaner with good interpersonal skills.
• Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal are essential.
• Experience supporting high value instrumentation in similar environments (e.g. Synchrotron facilities)
• Full UK driver’s license, (car).

The ideal candidate would be someone who has a strong electronics engineering background and who is seeking to use these skills and to continue their development.
