You will be reporting to the Technical Manager and joining a team of 5 established engineers during this period of extended growth.
Therefore, your responsibilities will include:
• Support the Project Manager with installations/site visits.
• Perform internal product testing and evaluations alongside other team members.
• Assist in preparing equipment for dispatch to customers including cables.
• Providing technical support to the sales team.
• Provide second/third tier helpdesk support for bespoke products and services.
• Document any support cases using the company’s CRM system.
• Evaluate any returned/ faulty hardware.
• Escalate support issues when required to the Technical Manager.
To be eligible for this role you will need the following:
• Recognised qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (i.e. Telecommunication).
• Proven experience in satellite communications systems engineering or high-level radio communications (VHF/UHF).
• Solid understanding of SCADA/serial technologies (RS 232, RS485) would be advantageous.
• IP switching and routing experience.
• Willing to travel and work at customer sites around the UK.
• You will also need “hands on” experience of working with satellite communications systems (VSAT).
The ideal candidate would probably be Ex Royal Signals Sys Engineer or similar coming from the RN or the RAF. They will also offer ongoing equipment training for the various equipment’s that they support.
