My client is a leading-edge company equipment manufacturing company for the pharmaceutical and bio research sector, where they develop a number of high spec technologies.

As a result of recent success, my client is growing quickly and is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and highly talented Field Service Engineer to expand the Support team.

You will be UK based, but you will have up to 70% travel covering Europe, USA and the ROW to carry out installation and commissioning of life science equipment

Therefore, your duties will include: –
• You will be required to carry out customer training as required in the use of the instrumentation
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving of instrument and customer issues
• Calibration, repair, maintenance of various lab instrumentation
• Customer support via e-mail and telephone.
• Documentation for all service work performed
• Diagnose and fix instrument issues (bad sensor, loose wire, etc.)
• IT Skills – add remove software/drivers, troubleshoot IT Faults
• Document and report back faults/fixes to R&D and Software teams
• When not travelling, you will be required to service instruments in-house at company HQ in Wimborne, Dorset, and therefore you will be required to live within a reasonable commuting distance to their office.

To be eligible for this role you will need the following skills and abilities: -
• HND or equivalent in Electronic Engineering or a Biotechnology discipline
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Ability to lift up to 20Kgs, as some of the units can be heavy
• Understanding of electro-mechanical instrumentation
• Self-management of workload, appointments, planning and customer requirements
• Basic electronics, soldering, use of related hand tools, calibration and test equipment
