My client is a privately-owned engineering and environmental multi-disciplinary consultancy, operating nationally from four offices and employing over 50 staff. They serve both private and public sector clients in sectors including residential, commercial, industrial, retail, leisure, education and healthcare.

The Company is currently undergoing an exciting change programme and they are seeking a Transport Engineer to join our Transport team in Their Leicestershire office.

The main focus of the Traffic and Transportation section is to provide their client’s appropriate evidence led consideration of the traffic impacts of development proposals and measures to remove or mitigate any such impact by use of analytical and engineering judgment. If you are an experienced Transport professional looking for an exciting challenge, then this position could be the perfect role for you.

Key role responsibilities:
• Design project management, co-ordination with other disciplines/offices, client liaison, fee proposals and invoicing;
• Working collaboratively with engineers and other technicians to deliver quality evidence led reports by a variety of measures;
• Implement high design standards and deliver BIM (Building Information Modelling) solutions to projects, and;
• The mentoring and supervision of Transport planning apprentices, technicians and engineers.

Requirements
Key skills, experience and attributes required:
• A minimum qualification of a degree in Transport Planning or similar;
• Demonstrable experience in a Transport Planning field;
• Proficient user of AutoCAD and related software including swept path analysis;
• Have the ability to prepare CAD drawings to a standard suitable for pre-planning purposes;
• Use various computer software programs which will include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), AutoCAD and more specialist software including; PICADY/ARCADY (Junctions 9), LINSIG, TRICS and TEMPRO.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of national and local planning and highways design standards and ability to interpret and communicate these policies effectively;
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with colleagues and clients;
• Ability to work within a team and also able work under own initiative;
• Excellent organisational skills and able to prioritise workload.
