My client, who are a privately-owned company, who produce aluminium products from Impact Extrusion process and who export about 60% of its production are now seeking to recruit a dynamic and committed BDM to join their team at this crucial period of their growth.

The company has recently gone through a MBO, and have seen their growth increase by about 30% in the last couple of years and are seeking to continue their growth, especially in the defence sector.

You will be reporting to the Managing Director and your role will be to continue the growth of their business that specialises in the production, of aluminium components, including high tech components, aluminium packaging and alum printed barrels for high end marker pens.

They supply multi sectors both domestically and internationally. Major opportunities currently exist arising from the current drive away from plastic packaging. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for achieving sales targets through new and existing customers.

Therefore your responsibilities will include:
• Executing a 3-year growth plan to achieve EBITDA targets.
• Develop relationships both externally with the customer base, as well as internally at board level and across the business
• Build, maintain and develop long standing relationships with new and existing customers
• Maximising relationships to increase turnover with existing clients, existing product ranges – increasing revenue from our sales overall.
• Gather market intelligence and customer insight to execute the Sales Strategy and ensure competitor advantage

To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience;
• An engaging style with the ability to work cross functionally with the internal sales, operational and NPD teams
• A detailed understanding of manufacturing and engineering principles and the ability to read technical drawings
• A consultative approach to work collaboratively with customers on engineering requests ensuring technical and commercial solutions are met.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to develop successful customer relationships
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally globally and be flexible.

The ideal candidate would be someone who is a mixture of a Hunter Gatherer and Farmer type of sales individual, who has the ability to find source short term sales opportunities, as well as develop longer term ventures.
