Customer Support Engineer vacancy in Home based (within M25) (483jc)

My client, who has over 40 years’ experience in the Barcode and RFID solutions are now seeking a Customer Support Engineer for it growing team.

You will be reporting to the Service and Installation Manager and your role will be to work on Sentry Access Control products across multiple academic sites, with responsibility for Southern England.

Applications from suitably experienced ex-military personnel (British Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy or Royal Marines) are strongly encouraged to apply.

This is a customer facing, multi-skilled role requiring electronic and mechanical understanding, covering all aspects of installation, preventative maintenance and fault rectification on customer sites across the UK and Ireland. The role requires work on construction sites and ‘live’ customer sites, as well as remote support as necessary.

Key Skills & Attributes

• HND in electro-mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Self-motivated, reliable, conscientious and hard-working.
• Computer literate.
• You will have a ‘solutions, not problems’ attitude.
• Flexible and adaptable with the ability to think on your feet.
• A good team player but also able to work independently.

You must be organised, calm under pressure and a very good communicator capable of tact and diplomacy when required and have confidence to interact with contractors, senior customers and system suppliers.

The role is based from your home and requires significant travel across the UK (including flights to Ireland and Scotland) and occasional overnight stays away from home so a full clean UK driving licence is essential.

A fully expensed vehicle and generous incidental expenses are provided.

Area Covered: London, Southern England and South Wales with overlap into other areas as required.

Preferred Home Location: Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire with good motorway links

The ideal candidate would probably be ex Cpl or Sgt who is seeking a role where you want to be hands on with a strong background of electro-mechanical experience, as the manager you will be reporting to is ex RE telecoms background.
