Product Technician vacancy in Cheltenham Area (505ww)

Our Client is an established company serving Military, Government, Transport and Utility markets. The company is looking to appoint two additional Technical Support Engineers that will be fundamental to the company’s operational capability, accordingly for the right applicant, a defined career path is available with future options available

The company markets a wide range of PDH, SDH, Ethernet/IP, MPLS, GPON, DWDM, Cellular and Wireless based networking equipment. They provide and manage a variety of SNMP based network management systems that run on Linux, Solaris and Windows servers.
The primary responsibility of this role is to prepare equipment for orders. This entails creating and testing baseline configurations and build standards for projects, whilst ensuring that all equipment is prepared correctly prior to being despatched to the customers site. The tasks will involve hardware builds, firmware updates, configuration uploads, pre deployment testing and ensuring all work is documented.
They are looking for a positive, hardworking person who is methodical, thorough and pays attention to detail. The right personal will be able to work as part of team or autonomously, to create robust and reliable solutions in a fast-paced technical team
Ideally the applicant should have experience in configuring and testing active equipment, as well as having an understanding of multiple telecommunication technologies such as IP, GPON, Cellular, TDM, etc.
The company is offering an attractive salary for the right person, this will be very dependent on previous experience and their levels of knowledge.
