They have a long history of designing and manufacturing specialist protective measures against violent attack or determined forced entry.
Initially, their work was focussed in the commercial sector, where cash robbery was a risk. This developed into solutions for the criminal justice sector (secure courtroom docks) and modular systems for data rooms and the storage of dangerous or sensitive items.
Customers require protective systems to be independently tested and certified and there are two pathways in the UK, one of which is for Government and is by invitation only.
My client’s system is arguably the most secure modular room building and portioning system approved for Government use and this system is now being selected to provide secure storage at Reserve Forces and Cadets Association bases throughout the UK.
They require additional individuals to add to the existing installation cohort to work on installing the secure steel rooms on sites throughout the UK.
The rooms are made from steel and bolt together. Once assembled there is some internal fitting out to be done.
The skill set required suits people who are fit and strong, capable of using cordless tools and able to resolve the inevitable little site problems as they arise. Those with a background of assembling structures or equipment, will find the process similar. Only those with an honourable discharge from military service may apply.
The vast majority of installation locations are inside existing buildings so moving the ‘flat-packed’ room panels into position using trolleys and dollies is an essential part of the process.
Whereas it is expected that this project will last for several years, it is dependent upon MoD budgets, so the initial requirement is for 6 months, which is our horizon at the moment.
The salary level which is paid monthly is £11 per hour on a standard 40 hr week with overtime, starting with 20 days holiday, rising to 25 days over a period of time. My client will provide all of the necessary clothing and equipment needed, as well as all reasonable travel, accommodation and subsistence. Also due to the nature of this company, you will need to pass security clearance to carry out this work.
The ideal candidate will need to be physically fit, as heavy lifting will be involved and would need to live within a reasonable commute of their location in Newcastle.
