Our Client is a leading ICT supplier within local government, defence and the private sector, having over 30 years of experience and expertise in providing innovative products and services. From their financial strength, and breadth to the quality of services offered, their record of success in supplying under many framework agreements and winning many government contracts makes them a standout business to work for.

They are looking for a Head of Business Operations to work closely with all stake holders within the company and Government agencies, who will be responsible for the delivery of effective Business Operations to support the current operations and growth expectations of this fast moving and growing business unit. The successful candidate will be reporting directly into a Director.

Role Description
• The Government Business Unit, overseen by the Director, Government, provides a range of IT solutions and managed services to local and central government bodies and healthcare trusts. Our Client holds significant presence on Public Sector Frameworks with a dedicated team of Business and Account Managers developing new business and delivering against existing contracts.
• This role will be responsible for the delivery of effective Business Operations to support the current operations and growth expectations of this fast moving and growing business unit. Critical to this role, will be a focus on driving improvements and efficiencies, establishing best practice and strategically planning for the future.

Sales Administration
• Line Management responsibility for the Head of Government Sales Administration, who leads a small team that create and process orders and quotes, providing mentorship and guidance as required.
• Analyse data to identify improvements that enable better performance against plan.
• Establish and maintain key relationships with vendors and distribution partners in support of Government Business Operations.
• Translate priorities into tangible change that contributes to our central program of digital transformation, which is reforming sales processing within the business.

Business Administration
• Chair the monthly Government Operations meeting, between the Sales Administration team, Director, Government and Chairman, with a focus on driving operational excellence.
• Proactively sample backorder and quote activity to measure quality and success rate, reporting trends and recommendations for improvement, as required.
• Champion the operational processes, review and analyse periodically, and as necessary create and document new processes to ensure efficient working behaviours and excellent quality standards.
• Take ownership of the overarching Government information management strategy, from requirements gathering to creating and implementing effective solutions.

Sales Support and Stock Management
• Proactively manage and develop Government customer e-commerce platforms to ensure that they are functional and efficient.
• Liaise with our internal Software Services Team to sponsor changes to our e-commerce platforms, as necessary.

Experience - Essential
• Previous business operations or similar experience in managing procedures.
• Competent in creating and documenting operational processes and policies.
• Competent in analysing data to create meaningful reports.
• Confident and robust stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Capable of creating and delivering an improvement strategy, enduring through periods of change.
• Experience in leading change whilst maintaining a strategic vision.
• Previous experience in information management.
• Possess the ability to prioritise workload.
• High level of organisational skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, in particular Excel.
• Desirable
• Experience of Public Sector procurement frameworks
• Prior experience of SAP
• Previous experience working with e-commerce platforms.
• Previous experience mentoring or coaching others.
