They are ideally looking for someone who has planning experience, (Microsoft Project, Primavera etc) and an understanding that there is a process of decision making and execution of activities to get to a final product.
Therefore, your main duties will include:
• Report into the Project Manager
• Work with the Project Main Planner who will develop and maintain the Main Project Plan
• The individual will be forward going, be able to hold people’s attention at workshops and facilitate getting answers / dates from contractors.
• Coordinate Weekly progress from package CM’s (4No) and feed into the Project Overall Planner
• Manage / facilitate the Last Planner System (LPS) on site (training will provided if necessary)
o Work with the package CMs daily reviews
o Work with the vendors (approx. 8)
o Prepare and maintain the LPS War room (already setup)
o Prepare weekly LPS reports / progress / look ahead (to be defined with the client)
• Must have Computer skills, Excel, PowerPoint etc to ensure the quality of reporting.
My client said whilst and experienced planner or Construction Manager would be ideal, it is worth noting that the ‘Team’ around the individual will provide the detail, however if the individual is not a ‘team’ player, willing to listen, to learn, take advice, ask questions then the individual will not be successful. These attributes are important as they do not intend the role to be planning in the long term, but more someone who can be flexible and morph into other roles commercially, technically, construction boots on the ground etc. This is an outstanding development opportunity.
The ideal candidate would probably be someone coming from an Engineering Background with either a mechanical or electrical engineering bias, and if you are leaving the forces now, would probably be someone from a SNCO or Junior Officer with an NVQ Level 4 Management qualification and exposure to Primavera or Microsoft Planner.
In return they are offer an excellent starting salary and bonus structure, as well as while you based in Netherlands, all your food, accommodation, insurance, and most of your travel costs will be covered by the client.
