PURPOSE

Maximising profitability in the business by protecting all company assets which includes buildings, stock, personnel and costs.

To deliver a value for money service in respect of reducing criminal activity within Group stores.

To ensure all core department values are upheld by all personnel within the team.

Proactive Crime Team Manager


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• To serve and execute Company Banning Notices and Civil Recovery Forms in conjunction with the Proactive Crime Team Officers having correctly risk assessed each situation as and when it arises.
• To ensure the team KPIs are delivered which include the team’s overall cost being offset by the amount of recoveries.
• To develop and manage the Proactive Crime Team Officers and to support them in achieving the department’s mission.
• To ensure company issued body cameras are used correctly and the footage recorded is managed in line with GDPR and stored securely on the Cloud database. This database must be maintained and evidential footage tagged and filed.
• To operate within Group’s Health and Safety guidelines.
• To maintain an up to date knowledge of relative Criminal Law and HR guidelines and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency in role.
• To maintain a working knowledge of Organised Crime Groups and Offenders who operate in Group stores.
• To support in the maintenance and growth of the Offender Database in ISACS.
• To ensure colleagues are kept up to date on target offenders and share information and intelligence.
• To work alongside Fraud Operations in relation to obtaining intelligence on social media platforms in relation to offenders and Organised Crime Groups.
• To be vigilant at all times on the shop floor observing any instances of theft or suspected theft howsoever caused.
• To challenge shoplifters in line with the correct company procedures.
• To maintain an up to date knowledge of Group CCTV systems and how to use them.
• To review CCTV evidence as necessary.
• To ensure your company issued Radio is charged and in use at all times during your tour of duty. This radio must be used to book on and off duty with. Radio etiquette must be followed at all times.
• To ensure your company issued SOS button is charged and on your person at all times during your tour of duty.
• To obtain photographic stills of offenders either through CCTV or preferably with a company issued IPad and circulate to any surrounding stores and crime partnerships as required. Any data must be shared in line with GDPR.
• To ensure any security equipment supplied to the branch is in correct and efficient working order and is used in accordance with company policy.
• To maintain an accurate daily record of occurrences and incidents and ensure this is recorded on ISACS.
• To attend any criminal or civil court as necessary and provide evidence on behalf of the company.
• To both install and assist with the installation of any covert camera equipment as directed by the Group Retail Profit Protection Manager.
• To operate total discretion and confidentiality in respect of all duties performed and information gained during the course of your employment.
• To prioritise workload, ensuring that all reports and investigations are completed within the deadlines set.
• To liaise with outside Investigation Agencies including the Police and the NBCS on a regular basis.
• To ensure Crime Partnerships, BIDs and shared security services are utilised and deliver value for money.
• To complete any adhoc tasks as requested by the Line Manager within the guidelines of your current levels of responsibility.
