My client, who are fully accredited to provide training and testing courses to the construction, engineering, warehousing and petrochemical industries are now seeking additional Tutor/Assessor to join their growing team.

You will be reporting to the Head of Apprenticeships and your role will be to promote, deliver, train and assess learners on variety of Construction and/or Civil standard qualifications and apprenticeships.

You will inspire and develop apprentices with effective high-quality teaching and learning activity, to promote a positive learning experience for the candidate. As part of a committed and valued member off the team, you will continually improve a high standard of delivery beyond the expectations of the learners and their employers working towards timely compliant completions.

The delivery and management of agreed caseloads will take place in a variety of work environments including on-site assessments, in the workplace or client Skills centres. Be responsible for the Intent, Implement and impact improvement of the standards with effective planning and delivery of innovative programmes. To enable apprentices, develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours to meet and exceed industry standards and prepare to be part of an effective resilient modern day work force.

Construction Tutor/Assessor Skills and Qualifications required:
• Experience of working in the Construction Industry
• Experience assessing Qualifications and standards in general Construction that may include Ground works, Brick and Plant. (Depending upon experience).
• Experience of teaching/training in a group or individual workplace environment
• Experience of OFSTED quality inspection at good/outstanding grade
• Strong ability to maintain 100% ESFA compliance
• Excellent track record in timely achievements and learner retention rates
• Experience of maintaining online port-folio/VLE platforms
• Able to support and communicate wellbeing initiatives for apprentices and employers.
• Full UK driving licence
• Energy, enthusiasm, adaptability, and commitment
• Flexibility over working hours
• Adhere to policies on Health & Safety, Safeguarding Equality and Diversity
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to follow processes
• Work well under pressure
• A knowledge of apprenticeship standard programmes and end point assessment process.
• Recognised Assessor Qualification e.g. A1 or D32, D33, TAQA
• Recognised Internal verification qualification e.g. D34, V1 (Desirable)
• Professional teaching qualification e.g. Cert Ed. (Desirable)
• Vocational qualification to at least Level 3/4 or equivalent/above

Your Responsibilities will include:
• To promote the providers Intention of each programme, Implementation of Quality Teaching and learning that provides an effective impact upon the apprentices Knowledge, skills and behaviours as part of an effective, tolerant and inclusive work force within the construction sector.
• Responsible to promote equality and diversity throughout the cohort of learners.
• Complete all essential required compliant paperwork to a high standard, ensuring you meet regulatory funding and legal quality requirements consistently.
• To maintain and record regular contact with the apprentice and employer and report any status changes or safeguarding issues to fulfil learning agreement and a safe well-being learning environment.
• To maintain and promote National and awarding body standards, ensuring quality of provision
• To provide pastoral learner support (as part of the 12 week review process), including effective information advice and guidance in order to foster and develop positive relationships/”next steps” progression with learners/employers and the provider
• Understand the needs and starting points of your learners/employers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these individuals learning goals and predicted targets.
• Work strategically - carrying out necessary planning to implement operational changes and ensure apprentices are continually stretched and challenged in order to reach their full potential.
• To ensure all sessions and 20% OffTJ/80%OnTJ are planned in advance and evidenced within the e-portfolio system
• To prepare training materials in all formats to facilitate student learning and to provide a stimulating learning environment making full use of available resources, and by creating an atmosphere of mutual respect and development in the interest of student learning.
• To collaborate with employers and apprentices to deliver curriculum activities in a logical sequenced process to meet the needs of the learners/employers in order to effectively prepare the apprentice for endpoint assessment.
• To ensure that learners understand the objectives of the learning programme, and commit to achieving their qualification aims within the time required to meet KPI’s required as per your managers instructions
• To maximise student participation in the learning process attend internal/external training where required
• To remain up to date in the chosen field and develop new skills and knowledge in line with CPD ensure all e-portfolio systems are fully updated and compliant (Audit ready on a weekly basis).
• to always work within the company’s vision & mission statement
• to ensure monthly performance targets are met as a minimum
• to undertake duties in full accordance with the company’s policies and procedures
• to ensure all learners are compliant within their 20% requirement for of the job training
• to commit to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults within the organisation.
• To be aware of risk assessment in the work place and ensure learners are in a safe working environment in line with Health and Safety regulations
• to be responsible for, and ensure that all documentation required for auditing and external verification purposes are accurately completed after each learner contact and recorded on apprentice’s and learner’s files
• Plan assessment visits with employers and learners from enrolment to completion setting clear milestones and SMART targets
• To be responsible for the timely and effective assessment of candidate/s in the workplace, skills centre, ensuring necessary planning and feedback is negotiated and recorded, to meet SB Skills requirements, as well as all stakeholders
• To plan with the learner/employer, targets and action plans to ensure progress through their qualification and guidance given to enable candidates in portfolio building and updating them and informing the relevant Manager if there are any problems
• To provide timely progression and achievement of learners as well as discuss progression/career opportunities
• Effectively manage administration, travel, quality assurance, standardisation, assessment and training support to meet the needs of all learners within an agreed timetable

Working hours
Your normal working hours are, 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, though you may on occasion have to work flexibly to meet a project deadline or when attending an event or conference.
