BFI Mechanical Field Service Technician vacancy in South East England (307jc)

My client, who are now one of the UK’s leading distributors for some of the largest fuel equipment companies across the globe are now seeking a BFI (Bulk Fuel Installer) Field Service Engineer to join their expanding team.

You will be reporting to the Operations Manager and Business Development Directors, and you will be responsible for providing support to existing Service and Calibration Technicians in support of site contracts / works.

Therefore, your job responsibilities will include:
• To provide Engineering assistance/works, in the support of company contracts
• To deliver a high quality and timely service to existing clients, and new or prospective clients in line with the company business strategy.
• To undertake any other duties and responsibilities, as requested by your direct line manager, in support of company’s strategy statement and goals.
• Visit Client Sites to assist other Staff, in the repair and maintenance of various plant equipment in respect of Fuel delivery systems.
• Consult with Senior Technicians and Clients to resolve problems in system operations and maintenance.
• Interpret maintenance manuals / schematics in the course of identifying faults and offering repair solutions.
• Understand contractual matters and work within any specific client contractual criteria.
• Carry out specific tasks as directed by your immediate line manager or authorised company senior technician.
• Update and maintain company service paperwork and reports, as requested.

• The candidate must be able to obtain, or hold current, full security approvals/clearances to be able to gain access to MOD and Police sites*

The ideal candidate would be someone who has a strong engineering background from a BFI background and/or aircraft refuelling, so either RLC Pet Op, or RAF or RN equivalent, so if you tick the essential requirements and most of the desirable, please feel free to apply as they will give training in the areas that you will need. They are also looking for individuals who have a vehicle electrical background, either REME or RE would also be considered.

The area you will be covering will be the Bedfordshire Area/Surrey, covering St. Albans – Hemel Hempstead – High Wycombe – Maidenhead -Bracknell – Guildford – Camberley, however you may work anywhere in the UK, and will be cover for Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Stansted airports and also Met Police sites.

In return they are offer an excellent starting package of £30k and once you have completed some training courses, will increase to £33k and after a couple of years you should be on £37k, with progression after completion of probation and over time up to double time for weekend working. You will also be provided with a Company Van and Fuel Card, phone, and laptop.
