Deputy Chief Technical Officer vacancy in Middle East (country to be confirmed on signing an NDA) (335JT)

Our client, a prestigious management company, are looking for a candidate to take on the role of Deputy Technical Officer, who will be the 2nd in command of the technical team looking after a luxury ‘7 Star’ Private Estate.
You will be supporting the day to day running of a technical department, from organising and delegating the workload, to championing health and safety, on an estate that values extremely high levels of quality.
This role is a permanent position and would suit someone looking to spend at least 3 years in a middle eastern country working on one of the impressive private estates in the world, where your time will be split between working hard for a tax-free income, with little expenses (food and accommodation is provided), and your generous annual leave with a flight allowance.

Duties for this role:

• Carry out routine inspections of the buildings, services and equipment. Report on repairs and maintenance requirements, by utilising experience and understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as carpentry, paintwork, general building, and landscaping.
• Manage a team of up to 30 engineers and technicians for the efficient completion of day-to day departmental tasks. Understand the areas of expertise of each team member and assign duties according to their capabilities.
• Offer advice and training to less experienced members of the team and organise staff to work together where there is an opportunity to experience to be passed on.
• Implement, monitor, and comply with the Company's Health and Safety Policy and recognised good working practices. Ensure that all personnel under your management are fully trained, equipped and compliant.
• Work closely with the MEP Senior Technician to programme repairs and maintenance, and prioritise resources to ensure all buildings, services, machinery, vehicles and associated equipment are in optimum operational condition.
• Support the Chief Technical Officer and the Technical Department with the production of operational documents and manuals, including standard operating procedures, checklists and forms.
• Liaise directly with Department Heads to provide support for coordination with other departments for correction of unresolved issues.
Experience:
• A degree (or similar advanced qualifications) in a related engineering discipline, or chief engineer certification from the merchant navy or yacht sector.
• Experience of supporting, organising and managing a maintenance team of approximately 30 persons - able to oversee construction works and manage projects independently.
• Knowledge of best practices for construction – electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry and general construction, with an eye for detail and workmanship.

• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Civil Engineering
• HVAC
• Electronics and AVIT
• Plumbing and Pipework.

Each skill should be supported by a recognised apprenticeship, certification or industry accreditation, along with documented work experience.

• Ability to contract, programme and oversee maintenance and construction work performed by external contractors
• Excel / Word / Email skills and experience of writing documentation for compilation of manuals and management systems
• Full driving licence.
