My client and expanding communications engineering company with nationwide contracts are now seeking an individual due to massive growth by acquisition and normal expansion to take over responsibility for the Southern Region.

You will be reporting to the Managing Director of the Digital Media and Engineering Division and you will be required to lead the existing regional field operations team whilst also being instrumental in the delivery of the Group’s strategic plan for future growth. You will be fully accountable for all aspects of field operations & key contracts within the region.

This is a pivotal role within the Engineering Division of the Group requiring a dynamic person possessing proven and effective skills across a diverse range of activities. As well as ‘regional’ responsibilities’, this position involves closely working in partnership with the Group’s Directorate and Senior Operational Management team and, therefore, the ability to communicate effectively across all levels is essential.

In order to succeed in this position the post-holder will be expected to meet and surpass the criteria and specifications detailed below:

Key Responsibilities:
• To strategically and operationally lead the field operational function
• Initiate and manage projects and change as required
• Ensure due diligence at all times in managing the operations, standards and levels of service required to meet KPI’s in accordance with the SLA’s agreed with the clients
• Lead the “Regional team” and seek to continuously improve performance and levels of customer service to be the “best in class”
• Implement best practice and new work-streams into the operation whilst minimizing disruption to existing clients and customers.
• Enhance and maintain relationships with internal and external customers to meet with the required standards of our service and delivery of operations
• Ensure full compliance to H&S rules and encourage and cultivate a “second-nature” approach to all practices.
• Champion our Group strategy of “national service with a local presence”
• Reduce group costs, travel time and CO2 output, in accordance with our company “green” strategy

 Demonstrate knowledge and awareness of the industry and the external market place and in order to identify trends, opportunities and best practice

• Elevate the presence and service of the business through proactive interaction and response amongst internal customers.

Key Competencies
To successfully carry out this role it is essential that the post-holder:
• Is an experienced manager(preferably from a Field Service environment)
• Possesses excellent ‘people skills’
• Can demonstrate a strategic approach
• Is able to influence
• Has strong analytical skills
• Is a first-class communicator


In a nut shell this is looking for someone who has the ability to run a number of team leaders (about 15-20) who will have teams of between 10-15 engineers each and therefore is looking for someone who can manage a sizeable team of engineers who are working in a variety of locations in the Southern UK Region (basically south of the M4), but at the same time is able to liaise with the clients as you will be in effect the face of the clients to the public to maintain a professional relationship and to make sure that the team is delivering what the client’s require, on time and to budget.

The ideal candidate for this role would be a SNCO/Officer or similar who has a strong technical experience, man management skills and customer services background.
