The impressive Hilton Brighton Metropole, which has recently benefited from a multi million pound refurbishment, sits in a prime position on the city’s cosmopolitan seafront. Many of the hotels 340 bedrooms offer uninterrupted sea views, as do its restaurants and bars. The Hilton Brighton Metropole also boasts a Livingwell Leisure club with indoor swimming pool and Spa. As the largest exhibition & conference centre in the south of England, the Hilton Brighton Metropole, with its splendid central sea facing location and excellent modern facilities it is the ideal venue for all kinds of events, from confidential management meetings to international conventions, as well as major exhibitions, social events and weddings.

As Maintenance / Facilities Manager you are responsible for the effective management of all engineering and maintenance operations within the hotel, including energy conservation.
Specific responsibilities include:

Leading your team in the day to day engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel including service standards, equipment schedules and work schedules
Liaising with Housekeeping to co-ordinate and prioritise maintenance activities for guest rooms and public areas
Developing systems and procedures to ensure the health and safety of guests, Team Members, plant, machinery and property
Liaising with Government agencies to ensure full compliance with statutory regulations
Preparing Capital and Repairs & Maintenance budgets for Engineering
Identifying and introducing environment friendly systems and equipment
Monitoring Key Performance Indicators for the Engineering Department and taking corrective action as required – equipment inventory, quality audit, productivity, etc
Responsibility for all Team Member related activities including recruitment, performance management, training, career planning, disciplinary matters and team motivation

What are we looking for?

Formal facilities management/engineering qualification
Experience in a senior position with extensive working knowledge of Engineering operations, preferably in the hotel industry
Up to date knowledge of modern trends and applications in the field of Engineering
Exposure to budgeting and basic accounting
Strong leadership skills and previous experience of managing a team
17th Edition Electrical is desirable
Good knowledge of Health & Safety
