My client who specializes in the provision of complex airport and air traffic control systems are now looking to recruit a dedicated and motivated ATC Systems engineer to join it expanding team working at airports around the globe

You will be reporting to the Technical Director and the main purpose of your role will be to assist the Director with the specification and procurement of installation materias for projects in order to meet delivery timescales

Therefore your principal accountabilities will include:-
• Work autonomously and as part of a small team.
• Technical responsibilities:
1. Review technical aspects of Invitations to Tender
2. Review specifications and assess customer technical requirements
3. Work closely with the Project Director, liaising with manufacturers and assist in compilation of technical tender documents in order to ensure all technical aspects and compliances of customer requirements are fully understood and
4. Ensure that all tenders are correctly costed to minimise any potential financial risk to the Company.
5. Compile drawings in relation to site layouts and plans so that engineers on site are fully informed regarding the installation task. To include preparation of all final drawings for projects to be submitted to the customer
6. Attend site surveys prior to equipment installations as required, in order to ensure that all requirements for the installation of equipment are fully understood
7. Carry out on-site installation and commissioning of equipment including the provisioning and supervision of local labour, to ensure that the project timescales for the installation are met and maintained
8. Plan, organise and monitor the work of Installation Engineers to ensure all targets and quality standards are met at all times
9. Liaise with relevant sub-contractors in order to ensure that all technical details and requirements are included and correctly costed. (The engagement of any subcontractors will be made with the authorisation of the Project Director.)
10. Deliver technical training courses (includes on site and also factory training courses)
11. Carry out on-site installation, commissioning and maintenance of equipment
• Liaising with the Project Director, assist in the coordination of all contractual issues related to the project administration, to include, but not limited to:
• Ensure all materials are supplied for each project
• Overview of all schedules and documentation, including Field Services Planning Documents, and initiation of any amendments to the Scope of Supply in a timely manner
• Customer and staff liaison
• Attend meetings both in the UK and abroad as required
• Make all endeavours to ensure that Projects are run within budget and to schedule and inform the Project Director if either budget or schedule is at risk immediately in order to ensure that remedial action can be taken
• In order to maintain quality of service at all times ensure that all contractual documentation is provided in accordance with the contract, specifically:
1. Minutes of meetings with customers
2. Periodic reports
3. Project schedules
4. Statement of Work
5. Drawings/Plans etc
6. Project Management Plans
• Represent the company in a professional way at all times both in the office and on site.
• Carry out other duties as may reasonably be required.

The ideal candidate will need the following:-
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years ATC Systems Engineering – Highly Desirable
• UK Airport Experience -Highly Desirable
• Project Engineering Experience (System Design, Project Planning,) -Desirable

Skills and Qualifications:
• Preferably HNC (or equivalent) qualified in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
• Good RF knowledge and skills -Highly Desirable
• Excellent IT skills -Essential
• Excellent Customer Facing Skills -Highly Desirable

Requirements of the Job:
• Work both in UK and abroad as required
• Work independently and as part of a small team
• Provide comprehensive support to Project Management team
• Represent the Company in a professional manner at all times

Systems Experience:
• Will have experience on some or all of the following:
• Navigation Aids (ILS, VOR, DME, NDB, DF)
• Communications (VCCS, Radio Systems, Antenna Systems, Cabling Systems)
• Radar (PSR, SSR, SMR)
• Control and Monitoring Systems
• Fibre, Copper and Wireless Networks

Additional Requirements:
• Ability to communicate at all levels with both staff and customers
• Ability to develop relationships with customers and establish long-term partnerships
• Ability to plan, prioritise and deliver to schedule
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
• Self-motivated team player
• Full driving license.

Other Information to Note:
• The nature of the job may require worldwide travel, occasionally for extended periods of time.
• It is the responsibility of the individual to ensure that all appropriate steps are taken to facilitate travel at short notice which means that passports and vaccinations etc. should always be up to date.
• It is a requirement of my client that its employees are aware of, and conform to legal requirements in all activities, both internal and external. Implicit in this is that all Managers and Staff not only conform to the appropriate standard in terms of Health and Safety, but also work to the highest standards of business ethics.
• This position is offered subject to security clearance via Disclosure Scotland. This is required in order to obtain airport security passes.
