Vehicle Access Control Engineer (268jc) vacancy in South East Based ()

My client, who is an established manufacturer and installer of safe and reliable automatic sliding gates, barriers and turnstiles etc

They operate from Reading and employ a team of highly skilled engineers and are well placed to meet the needs of their wide customer base.

Please note that this is a South East based role and that this role involves mainly site and limited office based work.

This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join a small established company and, although not essential, could be well suited for a person who has previously served in the Armed Forces i.e. British Army, Royal Signals, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force (RAF) and have a proven demonstrable background as a Engineer or Technician within an IT / Communications systems networking environment.

Responsibilities:
- Your main responsibility will be completing installations / maintenance schedules / commissioning of equipment/ servicing and callout responses .
- You will assist the sales team in providing technical support in both pre-sales and post-sales. Please note that you will not be selling products only demonstrating / presenting or providing technical support.
- Working as part of a sales team to coordinate timely, accurate and quality delivery of product presentations.
- The provision of technical support to customer accounts as required to meet sales goals.
- Communicate with customers and build rapports to ensure they receive an efficient service and are satisfied.
- Provision of technical support to customers to trouble shoot and resolve any problems.
- Demonstrate product line to customers and also explain to them how to use the equipment.
- Liaise with the Business Development Manager.
- Assist training staff and develop use of CRM.

Applicant Requirements:
- It is essential that you have a strong engineering background or Technical Support Engineer.
- You must also have a strong technical background with preferred experience managing teams.
- Must have solid presentation skills and be able to present to both individuals and groups.
- Ability to manage a heavy workload and work under pressure.
- Proven ability to build relationships.
- Problem solving skills.
- Understanding of basic electronics, and fault finding.
- Experience with test equipment.
