Technical Business Development Manager (425jc) vacancy in North Wales ()

My client is one of the world-leading international organisations in the field of optics with locations throughout Europe, Asia and the USA. Due to company expansion they are now looking for additional personnel to build on the team.

You will be reporting to the Business and Product Development Manager and you will be responsible for identifying, developing, winning, and maintaining research & development business in line with LAND BG Order Intake & Sales Budgets.

Therefore your key responsibilities will include the following:-
• Co-ordinating the internal delivery of research & development business work packages.
• Performing activities to identify and position the Company, its future products and capability into a potentially winning position.
• Obtaining, assessing and developing business relationships and opportunities.
• Leading the preparation and submission of bids, quotes or proposals.
• Maintaining an up to date, accurate and complete data base (AX RF) of opportunities.
• Ensuring the technical risks within a proposed project are identified and managed.
• Compliance with all Import / Export, Health & Safety laws and procedures.

Personal Specification:
It is essential that all candidates have the following:
• Motivation and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Confidence, adaptability and ability to work under pressure to achieve demanding objectives.
• Excellent Communication ability, commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Fully competent in the use of PC’s (Microsoft Office Applications)
• Educated to a minimum of HNC in an Engineering discipline in order to support technical matters.

The following attributes are considered desirable, but not essential for the role:
• Exposure and/or experience of Electro-optical systems, Optronic systems and associated technologies.
• Bid management and programme management experience.
• Appreciation of UK MoD research & development strategies, or Military technology research & development.
• Proven business winning capability.

Because of the nature of the work undertaken at my clients' site, this post is required to meet special nationality rules and therefore are only open to British Citizens. All selected candidates will be required to undergo security clearance.
