Senior Java Developer (427jc) vacancy in West London ()

My client is a highly specialised and fast growing trading boutique. They have consistently run algorithmic trading models for the last five years, and remain a major player in FX. Their platform is based on distributed low latency systems involving complex multi-threading and where performance is key. They are looking for Java Developers with a minimum of three years Java experience to expand our team and continue the growth of the business.

Job Purpose:
This is a broad role encompassing a complex front end trading application, performance improvement, market connectors, analysis tools and risk systems. Once you are comfortable with the existing trading framework and its components, you will be involved in the implementation of trading related features. There will be strong interaction with the traders.

Technical skills:
• Java Programming in complex projects
• Strong object-oriented application design and architecture skills
• Experience with different types of data (XML, FIX, etc…)
• Comfortable with databases and SQL, Hibernate/JPA, Spring
• Experience with the communication between applications (RMI, TCP, Corba, Tibco, JMS or other messaging system)
• Multithreading
• Experience of low latency/high throughput system is a plus

Person specification:
• Hard worker and committed
• Able to communicate directly with the traders/operations (fluent English)
