My client Haig Homes are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Co-ordinator for their office in Victoria in London.

You will be reporting to the Coming Home Campaign Co-ordinator and the purpose of this role will be as follows:-
• To provide administrative and communications/PR assistance to the “Coming Home” Campaign Co-ordinator within Haig Housing Trust (HHT); to raise funds for the purchase and adaptation of properties for Service personnel injured on operations or training. To assist with the joint co-ordination of the Campaign by HHT and Acuity Reputation Ltd.
• To liaise effectively and efficiently both internally within HHT and Haig Homes and externally with Acuity Reputation, the MoD, the media, outside agencies and various influential individuals.
• In carrying out the functions of the post, to work closely with the Operations Director (HHT) and the Fundraising & PR Manager of Haig Homes’.
• “Coming Home” is the fundraising campaign launched on 18th May 2011

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• In the absence of the Campaign Co-ordinator, to be the key contact within HHT for all “Coming Home” matters including
• Together with the Campaign Co-ordinator to be the joint point of contact for all media and other “Coming Home” enquiries
• To be fully aware of the housing solutions being provided to individuals by HHT; identifying, and developing potential national and local PR gain from cases for approval by Campaign Co-ordinator.
• To be fully aware of all HHT “Coming Home” related work; undertaking internal briefings within HHT and Haig Homes as required
• As directed by the Campaign Co-ordinator to co-ordinate effectively and efficiently all “Coming Home” events
• Liaising closely with the Fundraising & PR Manager, to ensure that “Coming Home” briefing materials and media packs are available and provided as required
• To ensure that there is effective close liaison with and monitoring of individuals raising money for “Coming Home”
• Production of high quality copy on HHT and “Coming Home” activities and developments, personal stories etc. for approval by the fundraising and PR Manager for external and internal publication
• To ensure that the log of “Coming Home” activities is maintained accurately and is up-to-date.
• To undertake close liaison with the MoD Public Relations Department
• To give high quality presentations on the “Coming Home” campaign to other organisations e.g. schools, other charities, community groups, Corporate businesses etc.
• As agreed with the Campaign Co-ordinator and the Fundraising and PR Manager to actively pursue new avenues for funding, advertising and general support for the campaign
• To maintain “Coming Home’s” social networking sites e.g. Face Book, Twitter etc and in collaboration with Fundraising & PR Manager to update the HHT website as required
• To make all the necessary arrangements for HHT Coming Home “clients” to attend events, including transport, accommodation etc. as required.
• To undertake any other reasonable duties within own skills and experience.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Able to demonstrate
• Determined, energetic self-starter with an eye for detail. Knowledge of the British military is essential.
• Education preferably to graduate level. Excellent administrative, numeracy and literacy skills
• Computer literate with ability to use Microsoft Office suite. Knowledge of use of social networking sites desirable. Website design knowledge a bonus.
• Tactful and patient with a pleasant telephone manner, able to communicate with people from a wide range of backgrounds and aware of the need for confidentiality.
• Ability to work on own initiative as well as being a team player
• Public relations experience is desirable

This role would suit someone who has some background with writing articles, press releases etc. who is able to deal with the press and who is highly organised and able to think on their feet with ever shifting deadlines and events that need to be organised.
