Configuration Engineer (480jc) vacancy in Berkshire ()

Our Client is seeking an experienced Configuration Engineer to become a member of a dynamic multidiscipline engineering team appointed to deliver a Safe, Secure and Clean functional engineering service to a diverse range of facilities, operations and projects. Involved in all aspect configuration engineering helping to support the project implementation of Configuration Management Plans and then the maintenance of configuration items after project completion

Key accountabilities
Accountable to Configuration Manager for the provision of;
• Application of appropriate engineering principles, best practice and know-how in the provision of advice and guidance on technical engineering standards/legislation
• Maintaining facility configuration modification control systems in support of the Design Authority actively participate in the Design and Review Process
• Providing awareness sessions and presentations to facility staff on Configuration Practice
• Safe and efficient configuration service to the Asset

Responsibilities
• Actively committed to safety and maintaining a culture of zero accidents or incidents relating to occupational and personal safety, security, health issues, and environmental matters within areas of accountability
• Work within the configuration control system, supporting the production and safe retention of necessary records and quality documentation
• Undertake assessment of modification requests, with using technical expertise to support where appropriate, advising the Facility Engineering Manager and the Facility Manager of the impact of such modifications
• Ensuring compliance with security, quality, environment, safety and health requirements for all work being undertaken within the Asset in support of Configuration Management
• Responsible for regulatory/statutory compliance relating to configuration control
• Monitor process modifications to ensure engineering compliance, ensuring modifications comply with company process

Qualifications
• ONC/HNC in engineering subject or equivalent qualification and experience
or
• Appropriate apprenticeship

Knowledge
• Sound knowledge of configuration modification control systems.
• Knowledge of plant operation, including configuration control and maintenance requirements
• Knowledge of the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations
• Working level knowledge of Safety Management Systems and their application

Experience
• Experience of engineering relevant to plant, process design and operation
• Experienced in the use of tools, techniques, and strategies for identifying, understanding, quantifying and controlling hazards and risks
• Experience of configuration and modification control
• Experience of contributing to and production of Configuration Management Plans

Skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills; with the ability to present information in a structured and defined manner appropriate to the audience
• Good oral and written skills
• A high level of computer skills and database
• Good team player
