Our Client is seeking a suitable candidate to lead delivery of Risk Management capability and support to designated programme elements and/or projects.

Key accountabilities
• Facilitate and support implementation of the Company Risk processes to identified programme/project tasks
• Contribute to improving risk management maturity throughout the business

Responsibilities
• To act as single point of contact (lead) to one or more programme elements and/or project managers, and to ensure a common and consistent approach to risk management is adopted, developed and demonstrated
• Provision of a timely and responsive risks management service which best supports programme element/project delivery, providing high quality and timely risk information
• To undertake modelling, three point estimation, schedules and risk registers at each stage of the project delivery process, in accordance with Company procedures and MoD requirements
• Ensuring risk information is communicated and a timely and appropriate manner to interested stakeholders, in particular the appropriate programme risk lead and senior project risk managers to ensure effective escalation of risk when necessary
• To facilitate risk identification workshops and development of registers
• As a member of the Company Risk Function, work with the Corporate Risk Manager, Business Resilience Team, Programme Risk Manager, Project Risk Manager, Risk Leads and other risk staff to establish and sustain an Enterprise approach to Risk Management and facilitate and support a move towards improved Risk Management maturity
• Liaise with Confidence Modellers, where appropriate, to ensure the full value from implementation of risk management is achieved
• Undertake, where necessary, development and improvement work to support continual improvement of the Company risk processes and support implementation where appropriate of Company Business Continuity processes
• To understand and apply responsibilities with regard to the Company’s Environment, Safety, Health, Quality and Security Standards

Qualifications
• Numerate degree or equivalent (such as HNC/HND)
• Recognised professional qualification in risk management/business continuity and/or membership of a relevant professional institute is desirable

Knowledge
• Knowledge of Risk Management Principles and Practices, in particular to programme and project delivery
• Broad knowledge of Corporate business requirements and processes, project management principles, and understanding of Confidence Modelling principles and practices and their implementation
• Outline knowledge of project/programme principles

Experience
• Wide ranging experience in supporting the implementation and on going management of risk processes and tools within a large organisation, including Active Risk Manager (ARM)
• Experience of Predict and Pertmaster is desirable
• Experienced in working with project and task managers in a delivery focussed environment
• Developing and maintaining effective Customer relationships
• Interfacing and reporting effectively with senior management across the business
