Our Client, a major oil production company established in 1962 with operations in the North Sea and elsewhere across the globe is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Marine Supervisor whose accountability it is to enable safe marine operation by defining the frame work to operate within

Responsibilities and Tasks
• The Marine Superintendent is responsible to ensure cross installation learning within his/her area and to will follow-up and assist typical marine activities such as offload, vessel positioning, lifting, maintenance and testing of lifesaving appliances and radio communication to enable safe and efficient production.
• The Marine Superintendent primarily supports the operating installations, but will on occasions also provide support to other departments within Operations.

The Marine Superintendent has the following Responsibilities and Tasks
• Champion a working culture based on respect for health, safety and environmental issues and maintenance of a high level of asset integrity
• Responsible for the overall coordination of marine operation activities
• Responsible for the overall coordination of human resources within the section including recruitment, succession planning, objective setting and performance appraisal
• Ensure that activities undertaken by the section are planned and executed with due consideration to personal safety, process safety and the environment
• Ensure that budgets are prepared for work tasks assigned and to undertake cost control for all tasks
• Ensure cooperation with relevant authorities and certification agencies and that requirements from such bodies are being complied with
• Provide or facilitate provision of standards, procedures and systems that ensure a high level of marine operation
• Enable the installation License to Operate (LtO) to be maintained and ensure alignment as appropriate with UK HSE and Company standards
• Marine Operating Procedures and all waivers from these
• Act as Focal Point for offshore on marine operation
• Ensure adequate competency of marine crews
• Facilitate Lifting Gear Surveys, Marine Audits (internal and external) and execution of Classification survey scopes and related work to close Conditions of Class/Authority
• Be the main interface point to Offload Tanker Operations and Supply Boat Operations.
• Coordination of all marine activities in and around the 500m zone (DSVs, Supply and Stand-By Boats, 3rd party preparations, Seismic Vessels etc.)

Qualification and Experience Requirements
The right candidate will most likely be is possession of some of the following qualifications
• Marine background e.g. as Master Mariner, Marine Engineer, Marine Supervisor, Barge Master or OIM – preferable with experience from FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) operation
• Engineer with an academic degree with experience within offshore engineering and/or naval architecture
• Good understanding of offshore marine operations
• Ability to create positive relations to peers and stakeholders internally and externally.
• General Management Experience
