Our Client is seeking an experienced Environment, Safety and Health Advisor as support to the Facility in all aspects Safety and Health management tasks to allow operational and corporate programmes to be successfully met

Key accountabilities
• Responsible for the Facility Local Management Safety/Environmental Inspection (LMSEI) Programme Manager
• Responsible for undertaking Facility Abnormal Events, including action management and statistical analysis
• Undertake Facility Risk, Manual Handling/DSE/COSHH assessments and provide support to Facility staff in this area
• Undertaking of Safety Inspections (As detailed by ESH Manager/Deputy).
• Carry out Emergency Response Duties as determined by Emergency Response Manager including participation in exercises and training events
• Participation in and management off Facility Manager Walkthroughs
• Provide support to and present cultural improvement programmes, including safety improvement activities, monitoring behaviours and hazard awareness
• Undertake analysis and trending of ESH activities in support of the CfCO and local management
• Implement changes to and new arrangements resulting from Assurance Alerts, Company documentation and local learning

Responsibilities
• To ensure that responsibilities with regard to the Company’s Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards
• Responsible, on behalf of the FM/Assurance Manager for undertaking Abnormal Event investigations, determining root cause analysis, statistical analysis and onward reporting in support of continued operations
• Responsible for supporting Review Learn and Improve (RLI) activities
• Responsible for aspects of emergency response and preparedness arrangements
• Acting as an intelligent customer to provide safety support to facility operations
• Responsible for safety advice to key working groups e.g. Total Material Control Working Group, Procedures Authorisation Groups and Modification Control Committee

Qualifications
• NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health or extensive experience working in a recognised ESH position within the nuclear industry

Knowledge
• Management, Emergency Response
• Management, Health, Safety and Environmental – nuclear and non-nuclear
• An awareness of ONR (office of Nuclear Regulations) licensing conditions is essential
• Health and Safety at Work Regulations
• Relevant Company Safety and Quality Instructions and Procedures
• Risk Assessment – including, Fire, DSE, Manual Handling and COSHH

Experience
• Experience of working in a nuclear organisation
• Demonstrable safety/management experience

Skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Computer literacy
• Good project management skills

Special Requirements
• Willing and able to become a monitored or classified radiation worker
