Our Client is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety Manager for the day to day management of the Facility ESH Team, providing advice, guidance and support for the Facility in matters relating to Environment, Safety and Health

Key accountabilities
• Maintaining a close working relationship with the Facilities Senior Management Team to ensure safe secure and clean delivery of the programmes
• Maintaining Safety Management Systems to ensure continued compliance with the Nuclear Site Licence and legislative requirements
• Management of the ESH Team, prioritising activities as required
• Management of Criticality Safety implementation programme
• Management of Safety Case delivery team
• Management of Facility Local Inspection Programme
• Asset Governance representative
• Change Control Committee representative
• Management of Case for Continued Operation (CfCO) process
• Management of the facility Abnormal Event process, including Company Level 2 investigations and oversee timely closeout of issues and actions
• Delivery of Facility Emergency Programme ensuring effective arrangements are in place to deal with reasonably foreseeable emergencies
• Carry out the duties of a Facility Emergency Controller
• Lead and support cultural improvement and behavioural programmes
• Management of fire risk and process fire assessment process
• ESH representative at Programme meeting and handover/readiness
• Interaction with Office of Nuclear Regulations and Central ESH on ESH matters
• HR aspects such as recruitment, performance and sickness absence
• Management of production of quarterly reports including KPI’s and other safety metrics

Responsibilities
• To ensure that responsibilities with regard to the Company’s Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards are met and understood
• Responsible for AE investigations, root cause analysis, statistical analysis and onward reporting in support of continued operations
• Responsible for Review Learn and Improve (RLI) activities
• Responsible for aspects of emergency response and preparedness arrangements
• Acting as an intelligent customer to provide safety support to facility operations
• Responsible for safety advice to key working groups

Qualifications
• NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety

Knowledge
• Emergency Response
• Health, Safety and Environmental arrangements applicable to nuclear and non-nuclear sites
• ONR licensing arrangements/requirements and application to high hazard nuclear plant
• Health and Safety at Work Regulations
• Relevant Company Safety and Quality Instructions and Procedures
• Risk Assessment – including, Fire, Workplace, DSE, Manual Handling and COSHH

Experience
• Demonstrable safety/management experience in a high hazard environment within a nuclear organisation
• Experience of investigative techniques
• Experience of emergency response aspects in a high hazard environment
• Experience of managing a small team

Skills
• Good written and oral communication skills

• Good computer literacy

Special Requirements
