Project Manager (036jc) vacancy in Rochester, Kent ()

My client is a specialist consultancy within a group of companies in the EOD, Mine and Disposal sectors is now seeking a Project Manager to join them due to internal promotion.

You will be reporting to the Operations Manager and you are responsible for the overall planning of the UK and European projects to enable the project to run efficiently, as scheduled and with the required profit margin.

Therefore your role will include the following:-

• The identification and allocation of competent operators and technical support to enable projects to have the relevant man power and direction to achieve the desired outcome within budget and timescale set.
• To lead, manage, support, motivate and develop the team to enable staff to perform to the required standard and maintain overall operational efficiency.
• To control the quality of all project documentation and correspondence to ensure that it meets the required standards.
• To act as a primary point of contact for clients, colleagues and external bodies, throughout the duration of projects to ensure consistency for the client and the timely resolution of all queries.
• Negotiate with suppliers and sub-contractors to secure a good price and/or service provision to reduce costs.
• Ensure quality control measures are in place and are carried out throughout the duration of a project to ensure the required standards are met.
• Ensure compliance of all Environmental and Health and Safety matters throughout the duration of a project to ensure all procedures are followed

To be eligible for this role you will need to have a strong background within the EOD sector, probably from the Royal Engineers although personnel from other units and services are also welcome, who is looking for their first/second role in the civilian sector. You will need a strong organisational background, coupled with excellent IT skills and extensive field experience. You will also need to be quick thinking, with the ability to adjust to changing priorities and targets.
