My client is currently seeking an Emergency Vehicle Technician for their airfield operation on the busiest NATO airfield that handles both commercial as well as military aircraft.

General Accountability:

The EVT dept falls under First Responder responsibility and as such the Fire Chief has the overriding responsibility for all personnel. Under his representation and the supervision of the Chief EVT Technician, the Emergency Vehicle Technician conducts daily duties relating to Maintenance Activities on all AFE First Responder Emergency Response Vehicles.

Dimensions:
The Emergency Vehicle Technician plays a key role in the following activities:

• Assimilating AFE-related training requirements ;
• Following all health & safety standards and procedures set by AFE;
• Assimilating individual training as required to stay current on training requirements for the job requirements on KAF
• Insuring that all documentation regarding qualifications are met (employee competency) are made available to his Supervisor
• Insuring that all AFE HSE policies have been read, understood and in use at all times
• Insuring that overtime sheets are submitted correctly and on time
• Other duties as tasked

Specific Accountabilities:
The Emergency response Vehicle Technician will carry out the following tasks:
• Insure that all mandated PPE is worn ;
• Insure that all AFE Policies and SOP’s are followed
• Insure that all HAZMAT regulations are read , understood and adhered to
• Insure that all ISAF/NATO/NAMSA Policies, Procedures and SOP’s are followed;
• Insure that On the Job Training is completed (Signed Hard Copies and a Computer generated record on the specified software for future referral)
• Attend training necessary to afford a safe working knowledge of all tools and equipment used in the performance of the employees duties;
• Attend training courses in information and work related subjects to keep the Technicians up to date on current repair methodology;
• Evaluate current training and identify training needs (the level of people's knowledge can vary greatly); onsite training sessions or manufactures factory training can be requested as required to enhance the knowledge levels of the Technicians.
• Attend courses to meet the needs of Technicians relative to the demands of a diversified fleet;
• To attend coaching and mentoring sessions as required to develop his technical abilities and strong points
• Perform repairs and adjustments on Emergency Response Vehicles in accordance with established policy and procedures.
• Identify and source parts and supplies required for all facets of repair and maintenance on Emergency Response Vehicles.
• Maintain work order and parts records on all maintenance activities.
• Generate Preventive Maintenance Schedules in accordance with established procedures by AFE, COMKAF and other governing bodies.
• Maintain Preventive Maintenance and corrective maintenance records with procedures established by AFE, COMKAF and other governing bodies.
• Serve as the default QA/QC on site representative for Quality of work completed (Self inspection of work completed prior to final inspection of work for release)

Educational & Experience Requirements:

The Emergency Vehicle Technician shall have the following knowledge, skills, and qualifications;

• Good, working knowledge of all types of Emergency Response Vehicles to include;
1. Fire & Rescue Vehicles
2. Ambulances.
• Minimum Five (5) years experience in the Emergency Vehicle Technician field.
• Minimum Five (5) years experience in identifying and sourcing Emergency Vehicle parts.
• Heavily Experienced with all types of electrical and electronic diagnostics and repair
• Proven team building participation
• Graduation from an accredited EVT training school or program as a fully certified technician in the field, preferably in the Emergency Vehicle Technician Field.
• Special certifications in Fire Apparatus to include;
1. Fire pumps
2. Breathing apparatus
3. Vehicle electrician
• Excellent problem diagnosis and solving skills, able to analyze problems by type and severity, for problem determination and resolution;
• Motivation to produce quality results, prioritize work, make recommendations and work with minimum supervision;
• Shall be fluent in the English Language
• Proficiency in Emergency Vehicle technical terms and part descriptions, particularly those of North American Fire Apparatus.
• Ability to obtain "NATO Secret" Security Clearance.

The client is offering and excellent salary and all food, accommodation, insurance flights etc are being covered by the client, however the airfield is on 24 hr operation and you will be working a 24h day on day off shift pattern and the total number in the department is about 88 personnel at the moment.
